Music Director at Rutherford Congregational Church, Susan LaFever has been an organist, collaborative pianist and vocal coach for over twenty years. Ms. LaFever received a Bachelor of Music Performance in French Horn and Piano at Union College in Lincoln, NE and while earning her Master of Music in Horn Performance at the University of Nebraska was awarded a full teaching assistantship to serve as pianist in the vocal and instrumental studios. Currently Director of The Ridgewood Singers and Pianist and Assistant Conductor with Ridgewood Choral, she has been a past pianist with Ars Musica and Garden State Opera. Susan was an academic specialist in Choral Accompanying at Kean University where she played piano and organ with the choirs, coached the singers, and performed recitals. She has accompanied Broadway stars and members of the New York Philharmonic in concert, has played in the pits of musicals on Broadway, and was conductor/pianist for the Northeast tour of Scrooge, The Musical.
