KEEPING FAITH, REACHING OUT, WELCOMING ALL

Celebrating 110 Years of Spiritual & Community Service

All are Welcome

Welcome to the Rutherford Congregational Church website. We are very excited that you have joined us. We strive to recognize and nurture the Christ in ourselves and each person that we encounter along the way. The United Church of Christ is a thriving community of believers, and lovers of the word of God. Rutherford Congregational Church has a long tradition of outreach and service to its members and the community. We hope you will join us for service on Sunday to experience for yourself the fellowship of Christ.

"Sacred Conversations on Race"

In a follow up to our Lenten series, "White Privilege: Let's Talk," we are beginning a new series titled "Sacred Conversations on Race." The initial conversation was held on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 4:00 p.m., at the Rutherford Congregational Church, 251 Union Avenue, Rutherford, NJ. Our first speaker was Professor Carol Walker Manigault of Felician University.

North Jersey Specialists put on the finishing touches to the exterior of the church after having done a complete power wash of the building, patching deteriorated surfaces, caulking all cracks and crevices, applying a primer sealer coat, followed by a finished coat. Work was started on October 3rd and was completed on November 4th. A number of work days were lost due to rain and the need for the building to thoroughly dry between each step.

A new lawn display welcomes all to the Rutherford Congregational Church. The church has a long and proud history of reaching out to the community and welcoming all into worship and fellowship. This is reflected in the churches Mission Statement - Keeping Faith, Reaching Out, and Welcoming All (Mission Statement) and their decision to become An Open and Affirming congregation (Open and Affirming Statement).
