| During the singing of "Silent Night" the sanctuary slowly progresses from brightly illuminated to darkness illuminated by lit candles and blue lights. The first verse of "Silent Night" was sung in German by Emanuel Meli with Fred Dammers on Guitar. (Link to video: SILENT NIGHT )
As the song progresses the sanctuary slowly darkens.
During the German verse the lighting shifts from bright lights to a subdued night time light.
By the end of the song the only light is candles, the blue light of night and laser lit stars. | |

A new lawn display welcomes all to the Rutherford Congregational Church. The church has a long and proud history of reaching out to the community and welcoming all into worship and fellowship. This is reflected in the churches Mission Statement - Keeping Faith, Reaching Out, and Welcoming All (Mission Statement) and their decision to become An Open and Affirming congregation (Open and Affirming Statement).
